TechnipFMC Achieves ISO/IEC 42001 Certification, Strengthening Responsible AI Governance

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in industrial technologies, robust governance is essential to ensuring its responsible development, deployment and oversight.

TechnipFMC has achieved ISO/IEC 42001 certification, the internationally recognized standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS). The certification provides independent validation that the company's AI governance framework aligns with globally recognized best practices for managing artificial intelligence throughout its lifecycle.

Developed over several years, TechnipFMC's AI governance framework establishes a structured approach to managing AI responsibly through defined policies, risk management processes and continuous oversight. The certification recognizes the maturity of this framework and its alignment with internationally accepted standards.

"Artificial intelligence is creating new opportunities to improve the way our industry operates, but innovation must be matched by strong governance," said Claudine Champavere, SVP Software Technologies. "ISO/IEC 42001 validates the framework we've established to govern AI responsibly, providing confidence to our employees, customers, business partners and other stakeholders that these technologies are managed with the rigor, transparency and accountability they expect.”

The certification demonstrates that AI-enabled technologies are developed and governed through structured processes designed to support reliability, accountability and continuous improvement. For customers, it provides independent assurance that AI solutions are managed responsibly and can be trusted to support critical operations. For employees, it reinforces clear standards for the ethical development and use of AI, helping ensure that innovation is guided by transparency, oversight and risk-based decision-making. It also provides confidence to suppliers, partners and other third parties that TechnipFMC applies consistent governance practices across its AI ecosystem.

As organizations increasingly integrate AI into business-critical activities, trusted governance has become an essential component of sustainable digital transformation. By aligning its practices with an internationally recognized standard, TechnipFMC is strengthening the foundation needed to scale AI responsibly while helping manage risks and maintain stakeholder trust.

ISO/IEC 42001 certification also reinforces TechnipFMC's broader approach to digital innovation—combining advanced technologies with the governance frameworks needed to deploy them responsibly, create lasting value and deliver benefits across the company, its customers and the wider ecosystem of stakeholders.
