A purpose-built combination of electric and hydraulic technologies
The eHD combines electric propulsion for controlled movement in high currents with dedicated hydraulic systems to power manipulators and tooling.
Direct-drive electric propulsion
Electric thrusters deliver responsive multidirectional movement without relying on a central hydraulic propulsion system.
Dedicated hydraulic work circuits
Independent circuits provide hydraulic power for manipulators and tooling without compromising vehicle propulsion.
Advanced power management
Intelligent load sharing maintains stable flight and consistent performance as operating demands change.
Consistent capability across real-world subsea conditions
The eHD is designed for subsea operations that demand more than performance in a single direction. Its combination of thrust, speed, payload capacity, station keeping, and auxiliary hydraulic power supports productive work under combined loads.
The vehicle can sustain forward speeds of up to 4 knots in water temperatures up to 32°C while providing the stability and tooling capacity required for inspection, construction, and intervention work.
Built for existing HD systems and complete new deployments
The eHD carries forward the established interfaces and service philosophy of the HD platform. Depending on configuration, operators can deploy the vehicle with compatible existing HD infrastructure or as part of a complete new system. Both paths retain access to proven Schilling Robotics tooling, service, spares, and technical knowledge.
Infrastructure compatibility
Deploy the eHD vehicle with compatible HD topsides, TMS, launch and recovery systems, tooling, and spares.
Tooling flexibility
Hydraulic and electric tooling, manipulators, sensors, cameras, and payloads.
70% component commonality
Carry forward familiar parts, maintenance practices, and technical knowledge from the industry-leading Schilling Robotics HD platform.
60-minute service and repair
Component-level service and repair can return major systems to operation in as little as 60 minutes.
Vehicle-only deployment
Introduce the eHD vehicle within a compatible existing HD system with minor adjustments to the system package.
Full-system deployment
Deploy the eHD as part of a complete new system with topside equipment, TMS, and a launch and recovery system.
One platform for a range of subsea work
The eHD combines flight performance with hydraulic work capability to support inspection, maintenance and repair, construction, intervention, survey, and data collection across the subsea asset lifecycle.
Inspection, maintenance and repair
Precise station keeping, controlled flight, and hydraulic tooling capability support inspection, maintenance, repair, and intervention work.
Heavy-duty construction support
High bollard pull, payload capacity, and hydraulic tooling power support demanding subsea construction tasks.
Subsea intervention
Dedicated manipulator and tooling circuits provide the hydraulic capacity required for connection, installation, and intervention tasks.
Survey and data collection
Stable flight, precise station keeping, and configurable sensor payloads support pipe tracking, route surveys, and subsea data collection.
Tested and proven in real-world operating conditions
The eHD has undergone sea-trial testing across flight performance, speed and maneuverability at depth, station keeping, thermal conditions, power management, and pilot handling. Operational testing included a simulated pipe tracking run, helping demonstrate how the vehicle responds during representative subsea work.

Designed for serviceability, visibility and control
The Schilling Robotics 60-minute service and repair philosophy supports component-level maintenance and faster recovery. Integrated monitoring tracks operating hours, prompts scheduled maintenance, and flags out-of-range conditions and performance trends to support preventive maintenance and early fault detection. Remote piloting adds operational and technical-support flexibility.
