TechnipFMC teams in Congo and Angola have been helping orphans and health workers with practical donations during the Covid-19 pandemic. The babies and children of the Jean Baba Orphanage and Association Espace Enfants Orphanage in Pointe Noire, Congo, were hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.

There was a shortage of basic food supplies including infant formula for the babies and toiletries such as soap and diapers. Visitors who usually helped out were unable to because of the lockdown and social distancing. But TechnipFMC Congo, which has been providing assistance to these orphanages since 2007, did not waver in its support – donating much-needed food supplies and toiletries, as well as personal protective equipment such as gloves, face masks and hand sanitizers for both the care givers and children.

Meanwhile, the team at Angoflex has made donations to help health workers treating people with Covid-19 at a hospital in Lobito, Angola. The first donation of personal protective equipment was handed over to the government of Benguela province, then went to medical personnel dealing with the sick at Catumbela hospital.

Igueth Peterson, Administrative/Legal/Insurance Supervisor in Lobito, said, “As part of the community, we need to take action and help on this fight as it belongs to all of us.”

Over the years Angoflex, which manufactures flexibles, has been participated in several social projects to help and develop communities.
