Technip awarded contract by Statoil for installation of GJØA Infield Pipelines in Norway

Technip has been awarded a contract by Statoil, worth approximately € 24 million (NOK 190 million) for the fabrication and installation of the infield pipelines on Gjøa. The Gjøa field is located in the blocks 35/9 and 36/7 on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, approximately 45 km west of Sognefjorden, and 60 km northeast of Troll C. The water depth in the area is between 360 to 380 meters.

The project consists of fabrication and installation of 25 km of oil and gas production and gas lift pipelines (14", 12" and 4.9").

Technip's operations and engineering center in Oslo (Norway) will execute the contract. The pipelines will be welded at Technip's spoolbase located in Orkanger (Norway). The Apache, a pipelay vessel from Technip's fleet specialized in the reel lay method, will install the pipelines. Offshore installation is scheduled for 2009.
