Technip awarded a contract for a chemical plant in China

Technip was awarded by Bluestar Adisseo Nanjing Company Limited a detailed engineering, procurement and project management services contract for a methionine* plant in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China.

The plant, which will be the first integrated liquid methionine unit in China, will have a production capacity of 140 kilotons per year. 

Technip’s operating center in Shanghai, China will execute the contract, of which mechanical completion is scheduled to be completed in the 2nd quarter of 2012. This award follows the successful execution by Technip of the basic engineering design and the process design package.

* Methionine: an amino acid containing sulphur found in most proteins and essential for nutrition.
