News - Press Release
For 14 years in a row, Technip Italy SpA is certified with the standard SA 8000.
The SA 8000 Standard is a certification issued by Social Accountability International (SAI), a non-governmental, international, multi-stakeholder organization dedicated to improving workplaces and communities by developing and implementing socially responsible standards.
In 1997, SAI launched the SA 8000 (Social Accountability 8000) – a voluntary standard for workplaces, with the aim to create a common language to measure social performance. It is based on the United Nations’ Declaration of Human Rights, conventions of the International Labor Organization, United Nations and national law. The certification is still recognized as one of the strongest work place standards worldwide.
It provides a management systems approach by setting out the structures and procedures that companies must adopt to ensure compliance with the standard. Among the requirements to get the SA 8000 standard, we can find the protection of the health ensuring training and related information, or even the fixing of a remuneration in compliance with local industry minimum standards and sufficient to satisfy personal basic needs.
