News - Press Release

One of the biggest subsea projects we have ever been involved in has passed another important milestone.
Start-up from the Kaombo South floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit was achieved on April 1 this year.
The field off the Angolan coast is a major development both for us and the operator, Total. Close collaboration within our company and with the client has been a defining factor in the success of the project.
Kaombo South is the second phase of the project. We have also been heavily involved in the first phase, Kaombo North, which produced first oil in July 2018 and was officially inaugurated by Total’s Chairman and CEO, Patrick Pouyanné, last November.
Our work on Kaombo has provided us with the opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to local content and to supporting local communities and the economy. In addition, it has provided employment for hundreds of Angolan nationals.
